Hi
there, welcome to another edition of Dowsing News. There are a few
meetings and courses listed below, then on to our ghostly tale, which will be of
interest to everyone thinking of dowsing at stone circles and other sacred
or ancient sites this summer. It is thought that the ancient Egyptians used a
type of spiritual guardian to protect tombs and sacred sites I am sure you have
all heard about Lord Carnarvon dying seven weeks after the
official opening of pharaoh Tutankhamun's burial chamber, rumours were rife
about the curse of Tutankhamun. I have had no trouble at the large number of
sites I have visited but then I always ask permission to go in and treat the

Earth
Energies– The Living Serpents
Peter Knight
Peter gives an illustrated presentation based on his new
book, 13 Moons - Conversations with the Goddess. Tonight he will put forward the
case that the serpentine energies we dowse are not just part of inorganic grids
or magnetic fields per se, but are evidence that the very Land itself possesses
Life Force, and is in fact alive with Consciousness. By looking at the earth and
its sacred sites in this way, Peter has found that his dowsing abilities have
been heightened. Although an atheist can be a good dowser, he advocates, by
looking at the Land through new eyes, through the eyes of the Ancients, we can
open up a two-way communication with the Spirit of the Planet. Peter is author
of 5 books on our ancient heritage, is co-founder of the Dorset Earth Mysteries
Group and leads field trips to sacred sites.

In
Harry Oldfield’s early years of research, one of his most significant psychic
encounters happened in 1979 while he was attached to the Dragon Project, a
scientific and natural-energy investigation into ancient megalithic and
neolithic sites, in particular the Rollright Circle in Oxfordshire. Harry was
asked to monitor a winter solstice with his testing equipment. He and others on
the project were hoping that when the Sun rose and the first rays of daylight
hit the stones, electrical anomalies might appear.
In
his enthusiasm and youthful inexperience, Harry arrived at approximately 2.00
am, many hours before sunrise, to set up his detection equipment in the stone
circle. He was the only one there and decided to go into the circle. As he
walked to one of the largest east-facing stones, the grass underneath him was
crisp and frozen. As he was tapping his electrodes into the crevices of the
standing stone, he had the feeling he was being watched. He caught sight of
something out of the corner of his eye, and then in the torchlight he saw a
large, dark shape approaching him very quickly. He realised it was a large
dog/hound of Great Dane size but much more muscular in stature. It was
completely black except for its eyes, which reflected the torchlight.
Harry,
being very fond of animals, took off his glove and greeted him by patting him on
the head. But as his fingers went through the fur to what should have been warm
skin and flesh, Harry’s hand recoiled as if it had been plunged into an icy
freezer. Harry was afraid that his fingertips might stick to the dog’s skin
because it was so cold. He remarked in a sympathetic voice, “What are you
doing out on a freezing night like this, boy? You should be in front of a nice
warm fire.” He was still presuming that this was a farm dog that was taking a
nightly walk by himself. He carried on assembling his detection array. One
particular electrode was very stubborn and would not adhere properly. So he used
slightly more vigour to attach it in
the crevice, producing some audible scraping noise. This immediately brought the
hound, moving silently and with white fangs exposed, right up to his face.
Harry, although startled, kept his cool and made a remark, which went something
like: ‘don’t worry boy I’m not hurting the stone. I am here to learn from
it.” Harry related afterwards that he did not know where those words had come
from, but in retrospect they probably saved his life!
When
looking back at the stone and then at where the hound had been a second before,
he suddenly thought, Gosh, he moves very silently for a very big animal.’ He
then looked down at the grass where the animal had been. Harry’s own
footprints had made big impressions in the frozen grass stems: however, where
the hound had been, not a blade of grass had been disturbed. He also realised
that when pointing the lamp between him and the creature, his own breath
condensation was clearly visible, but he did not remember any such condensation
coming from the creature.
Harry
hastily made a tactical retreat back to his vehicle, which was an Austin Maxi in
those distant days, and he wound up the windows and locked the doors. He
listened to the radio and drank hot coffee from his flask, while trying to
convince himself that his imagination had been working overtime in the early
hours of the morning. A couple of hours later, he was joined by colleagues and
began to feel much better. He observed a beautiful sunrise and collected some
interesting electrical and sound anomalies as light hit the stone circle.
When
commended by the head of the project for being the first man in the Rollright
Circle that day. Harry said. “I may have been the first human in the circle,
but I wasn’t the only one because I was joined by a black hound’. The
project leader’s astonished face confirmed to Harry that something unusual had
indeed happened. A local historian was called over and Harry was asked to repeat
his story. Harry was then told that he had been the latest observer of the
spirit guardian of these local sacred circle sites. The guardian is known
locally as Black Shep and is sometimes also known as the Black Hound of Hell.
Harry was declared afterwards to be the only person to have touched the Hound of
Hell and live to tell the tale!
A
fatality had been associated with Black Shep in the late 1920s or early 1930s.
One evening, a local village drunk was seen to he relieving himself against one
of the stones of the site. His companions shouted to him that Black Shep would
get him and he shouted back in no polite terms for them to go about their own
business. The next morning he was found in the middle of the Circle with his
throat torn out and other injuries. Local officials ruled that a wild animal,
maybe one that had escaped from a zoo, had been the culprit in his demise, as no
local wild indigenous animals such as wolves or hears, capable of inflicting
such horrendous injuries, were now to be found in the English countryside!

Hello
welcome to this edition of Dowsing News. Its strange how things just pop up.
I was clearing out one of my old dowsing course folders the other day and out
fell this article by
Dr.
Bruno Fricke from Germany on using polarised stones to correct geopathic stress,
something I had completely forgotten about!
It’s well worth a read you never know when you will have to deal with
geopathic stress.
Some of you may know I have an underground
stream cutting the corner of my house which causes geopathic stress, for a
number of years now I have been experimenting and testing various ways of
dealing with it. Which involves checking its physical effects by mussel testing
and looking at how it affects plants etc. Take a look at the photo below,
you will see two small shrubs bought 2 years ago given the same light and water
etc. left about 10 feet apart one over the course of my under ground water
stream on the other in a neutral area. What an amazing difference in growth!
Yes, you guessed it right! The bigger one was in the neutral/good area.
Be careful where you sleep, it will have the
same effect on you!

THE USE OF POLARISED STONES AS A METHOD OF CLEARING HOUSES
AND COMMUNITIES OF DETRIMENTAL RADIATION
By
Dr.
Bruno Fricke, Neumunster, W. Germany.
Translation by Nicolas Finck
Extensive
investigations in recent years have shown that many older structures, and in
some cases whole communities, are in large part free of geopathic radiation.
This absence of irritation zones in areas of human habitation has been
observed in central Europe,
Copenhagen,
Rome, Spain and Venezuela. It may be assumed that this phenomenon is to be found
in older settlements world-wide, where stone is used for construction.
This state of balance and protection can be vulnerable with modern
construction techniques, and in a number of cases, this protection has been
disturbed by steel-and-concrete structures, for example, which have been erected
between older houses, and by the large refrigeration units commonly used in
hotels.
Yet
for a dowser, it is always a pleasure to find these balanced areas clear of
geopathic zones in old cities, villages, and individual houses.
We are talking here about all kinds of irritation ("noxious
radiation") zones, such as water veins, geological faults, and grids of
different kinds, which all have their effects on living things.
In this connection, geological faults appear to have particularly noxious
qualities.
The
method of interrupting this irritating radiation is generally through the use of
polarised stones or bricks. In this
procedure, the balancing or healing is achieved when the positive side of the
stone or brick is placed facing upwards. The
foundations of older buildings are particularly effective in activating this
clearing, and it seems to be necessary for some of the stones or bricks making
up the structure to be located below ground level in order to balance out
harmful vibrations, and to achieve harmony with the Earth.
Polarising.
Stones
and other objects can be polarised by striking them. Thus, stones can be laid
around a house, and then be hit with a heavy hammer in order to achieve the
correct polarisation. The struck side will be positive, and a wall of such
stones or bricks will balance. And neutralise the effects of geopathic zones.
This
Method
has been applied successfully many times. The
use of correctly polarised stones is very old in all cultures, and appears in
the earliest known stone buildings. Thus,
our observations begin with megaliths and other ancient stone constructions,
whose age is now generally assumed to be greater than that of the Egyptian
pyramids, where polarised stones have been observed, but not yet systematically
researched. At megalithic sites,
the stones are placed with the positive side turned inward in order to send the
positive energy into the centre of the space.
This may also be generally observed in churches.
These
principles of building with polarised stones, which were first observed in an
old sheep stall on the Lüneburger Heide (Heath) in Northern Germany, are once
again available to us, as this article will report. Nearly all buildings built before l900 had their energies
balanced by this means, whether they were houses, churches, city halls, castles,
palaces, or large festival halls. The
irritating radiation recognised by the dowser is made up of different
components, as has been shown many times, and physical research indicates that
not just one component, but many are active, exactly as in the observations made
on plants, in which it has been demonstrated that some plants may even be used
as bio-indicators to detect the types of zones. When the components that we
regard as noxious are neutralised, others remain in force, which people (and
perhaps animals) can apply for their own purposes.
Thus
we come to the sacred realm, and we find that in churches, just as at megalithic
sites, these energies are used in order to lend the priest special powers.
Therefore, we may regard
The
ancient megalithic sites as places of initiation, and not just for the burial of
the dead. Certainly they served
other cultural purposes as well. This
becomes especially clear when we see, as Kehnscherper writes, that the dead was
left outside the grave until the decomposition of the body was complete, and
subsequently the bones were buried. Some
of these traditions are still practised among certain orders today, in which the
initiate spends time in a dark room with a human skull in order to reach further
levels of enlightenment. Whether or
not special powers are associated with the bones themselves is not something
that we will research here perhaps this rite is only to make clear the passing
nature of our life.
Experiments demonstrating the effectiveness of polarised stones.
Two
experiments will be described here by which the effectiveness of polarised
stones can be observed.
(1) A cabbage plant that grew over the crossing of two water veins was
completely overrun with caterpillars. Six
or seven polarised fieldstones were laid around the
plant with the positive side up, and after about three days, the
caterpillars had disappeared. The
effect of the water-vein crossing was to lower the natural resistance of the
plant, which allowed the caterpillars to attack.
When the stones were placed,
the effects of these energies were removed, and the plant was able to
re-establish its own defences, causing the caterpillars to withdraw.
Similar behaviour has been observed by Professor E. Jahn in the case of
forests plagued by damaging insects, where the plants suffering the most were
located on crossing points of irritating energies.
(2) It is well known that fresh cow's milk will sour in a few days.
In this experiment, a small amount of milk was taken each day from test
vials. The degree of sourness that
had developed was measured by titration with a thinned sodium mixture to check
for enolpthalene as an indicator. Because
of the difficulty in determining the final results
of this reaction, Christina Otto, a chemical scientist's assistant from the Milk
Institute assisted us with the experiment. It was clearly shown that the degree of souring after three
or four days varied considerably from one vial to another depending on whether
the milk had been on, between or next to the polarised bricks.
This experiment, which has been repeated many times, is a clear
demonstration of some of the effects that polarised stones can have on living
things.
.
There
is no doubt that many living things can be affected by the use of polarised
stones, and people can enjoy better health when irritation zones are balanced
(rendered harmless) by this method. This is part of the experience of qualified
dowsers.
Not
every neutralising device offered to counteract the effects of geopathic
irritation is effective over long periods of time. Such devices should only be used after a client's bed has
Been
moved to avoid the problem zone.
The
use of polarised stones in sufficient quantities appears to be the best method
in such cases, as has been consistently shown in the past.
Economising through a sparing use of stones is not desirable here, as one
of the following examples will show. The
price (in Germany) of correctly polarised bricks is not greater, and their
effect is long lasting. Certain
sources of irritating energies have already been noted.
Modern construction techniques
have
not made it possible to avoid these entirely, but an experienced dowser will be
able to provide remedies quickly and without great cost.
The
Current Use of Polarised Stones
Today,
we can once again employ this ancient building knowledge in construction.
In recent
years,
a fair number of houses have been built according to these ancient principles,
and have been shown to be free of geopathic disturbances.
Although today it would be too expensive to inspect each stone, there are
several ways to employ polarised stones. Small quantities of correctly polarised
bricks are again available to us, so that we do not need to depend on
fieldstones, though these, also, can be used successfully. Unfortunately,
co-operation with the brick-production industry is not yet so far along that
properly polarised bricks can be made generally available, with the result that
transport over long distances may be involved. However these bricks are not more
expensive than normal ones.
Prior
to construction, any site should be inspected by a dowser competent to deal with
detrimental radiation. It is
important to have the dowser return when the building is complete and the
occupants have moved in, for we have found that about 58 of new houses built
with polarised bricks or stones did not remain clear, and a certain amount of
irritating radiation may return. This can result from the construction
activities themselves, or other disturbances nearby. The skills of a dowser experienced in this field are
essential for this verification.
Following
are details of some of the building projects in which polarised materials were
used
Example
l.
The
chief in charge of construction is an experienced dowser, and one of the first
things done was to place large stones that had been polarised by a number of
heavy hammer-blows over the irritation zones, which in this case were water
veins and geological faults. In
this operation, the positive side is placed facing up, and balancing of the
energies takes place. The areas
between the noxious zones were not laid in with stones, in contrast to the type
of construction found in older buildings. In
this case, all the geopathic disturbances in the living area were removed.
After about three years, a new water line appeared with geopathic
components. This was brought in by
a large new construction project next door.
The new zone, however, does not disturb the beds or the working places of
the inhabitants, so it did
Example
2.
Further
possibilities exist in the re-use of older foundations.
This was the case where an old
farmhouse
was completely renovated with new building materials. A cellar was added, which was built of correctly polarised
bricks, and the ceiling was built vaulted.
Because of this, the cellar is free of geopathic energies.
Vegetables can be kept there longer without
showing
signs of decay. Here, the
same phenomenon may be observed in a storage cellar with correct construction,
and it was shown that vegetables kept fresh longer. This cellar was built of
polarised bricks with a vaulted ceiling. The resulting polarisation can also be
transferred to water placed in the cellar.
Water that dowses as "negative" becomes "positive"
after
several hours. The remarkable
effect of this radiation, or should we say, polarity, is also found in older
wine cellars, where it improves wine that is stored there over long periods of
time. A new wooden house was built
on an old foundation, and more masonry was added using polarised bricks.
This included the installation of a chimney.
In building a chimney and fireplace, the bricks should be set in with the
negative side placed facing the open inside of the chimney in order to provide
the necessary draught.
Example
3.
Two
further wooden houses having no cellars were built with correctly polarised
bricks in the foundation. The
result was the complete elimination of the geopathic disturbances.
.
Example
4.
A
house was erected when no correctly polarised bricks were yet available.
In this case, a trench three feet wide and four feet six inches deep was
dug around the house, and partly
filled
with gravel. Field stones six or
seven inches long were laid on top the gravel, and then individually struck with
about five heavy blows of a hammer from above, and the noxious radiation was
immediately interrupted. Another
layer of similar-sized fieldstones was laid to a depth of 20 or 30 inches, and
struck. 'The number and strength of
the hammer blows is important, as is the mass of the individual stones.
It is difficult to polarise stones which are bigger than those described
here by hitting them with a hammer, and smaller stones do not have a sufficient
mass to do the job.
Example
5.
In
this case both the construction chief and the architect were operating on a low
budget. These men wanted the entire foundation to be made of sandstone.
A ring of polarised bricks was to be laid to the height of 12 courses.
This did not suffice - the bricks were not in the earth, so they were not
grounded. In spite of this, our
inspection showed that noxious zones registering strength of eight outside the
house were reduced to five inside. In
another part of the house, which does not have a cellar under it and therefore
has no steel-and-cement floor, the strength of the irritation zones was reduced
from eight to three. As this was not completely satisfactory, a ring of
polarised fieldstones was additionally laid around the house. In this case, the original recommendation of the dowser was
not followed, and only supplemental measures led to the desired result.
Example
6.
In
the case of a half-timbered house with no cellar, flagstones were laid around
the house at intervals of about 10 yards with the positive side up.
Further, the floor was finished using
stones
with the positive side up. The
balancing out of the detrimental zones was complete. Next to this house, a well at a depth of about 50 feet was
located. This house had been built
without
the particular purpose in mind of interrupting the disturbing energies.
It was built simply at the request of the client, yet it was free of
harmful radiation’s, that surprised us.
Investigation,
however, showed the cause of this balancing to be the use of the polarised
stones. In this case, no large
foundation was necessary, so that with the relatively few flagstones, which
furthermore lay only on the surface of the earth, a positive effect was.
achieved.
Example
7.
In
this case, one layer of large stones surrounded the house to a depth of about 3
feet. These stones were struck from
above five times with a large tamping machine.
'This was sufficient to polarise them correctly and to balance out the
geopathic zones. It is not
necessary that the stones are hit by hand, and a tamping machine can be used if
it is
The
material presented here shows that today; it is once again possible to live as
our ancestors did, without geopathic disturbances, for the necessary bricks are
now available. 'The verification of
the complete balancing out of detrimental energies remains the purview of the
experienced dowser. Just as an
experienced water dowser is employed to locate wells, a dowser with special
experience in the balancing of radiation is essential for the work described
here. Only such a person can assure
that both the clearing of the site and the subsequent verification are performed
correctly, and that the results are dependable.

RAYMON
GRACE & DOWSING FOR INTENT
Speaks
at the Total Health Show, at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, sponsored by
the Consumer
Health Organization of Canada on March 29, 2003
"Using
Water to Change Energy - Using Energy to Change and Clean Water"
Raymon Grace, from Saltville, Virginia, one of the most highly
regarded dowsing teachers in the western world, inspired the Toronto Dowers to
commence The Water Project, on November 26, 2002. This project began with
his concept and his energy. The Toronto Dowsers took it to a next
step, taking the water he energized, putting it in to bottles, distributing it
and using it, for many different purposes. Each purpose intends
healing.
Raymon Grace is rapidly becoming a favourite teacher
across North America for those interested in understanding, using, moving and
changing energy to create more positive outcomes in life for them selves, their
families and friends.
This kind, simple mountain man, from Virginia, has
been a guest lecturer at the Ozark Research Institute at Fayetteville, Arkansas;
all the major Dowsing conventions in North America, an award winning teacher for
the Silva Method, learned from famous native healers such as Rolling Thunder and
Chief Two Trees. He speaks to church groups, police officers and has had
numerous radio interviews.
Raymon teaches people how to empower themselves using
simple techniques and the power of your own mind.
The Consumer Health Organization of Canada (CHOC) and
the Toronto Dowsers invited Raymon to Toronto for a 2nd year to speak at CHOC's
annual Total Health Show at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, attended by
thousands of people. The Toronto Dowsers has been growing with
monthly meetings offering presentations since its modest beginnings September
2000. Dowsing is one of the main tools Raymon uses to move energy.
One of Raymon's two presentations was about water:
"Using Water to Change Energy - Using Energy to Change and Clean
Water". This informal talk gave some real life examples of
using dowsing and energy to clean up all the bodies of water on our planet and
to demonstrate the programmability of water. Raymon showed how water can be
energized to improve our mental, physical and emotional health.
What follows next is the transcript of Raymon's words
at that talk:
*
* *
* *
".... We're going to talk about water today,
until we run out of time or run out of what to say, whichever comes first.
We have been working on this for a while. I'll tell you who I mean
by "we". My friend Larry Huszczo and his dad Walter figure
in to the story we are going to share with you here today. Plus, I work
with what I refer to as the Spirit World. That's my definition of it.
You can take it for whatever its worth.
I'll start out with something
everyone should know but most people live as if they do not know --- is --- that
--- we are not making any more water. There is not any more now than there
ever has been. But there is a lot less pure water. Every day we have
less and less drinkable water on the planet. Every day, we have more and
more people drinking it, using it and polluting it. This is a trend that
can not continue indefinitely. It may continue until there are no more
humans left to pollute it any longer but it will not continue indefinitely.
There has got to be an end to it somewhere. It may or may not be within
our lifetimes. Chances are, it very well may be. It may be right at
the end of them because if we pollute all of it, there won't be much more left.
For those of you old enough to
remember, back in 1973, down in the States, when gas prices went from 30 cents
to $1 a gallon, you would have been hard pressed to have convinced anyone,
including me, that the time would come that you would be paying more for a
gallon of water than you do for a gallon of gas. But you have already seen
that time.
So, looking down the road another
10 years ---- what are you going to be paying for it --- if it is even
available?
Those of you who have children and
grandchildren might want to consider them. Because that is one of the
things that motivates me. That your children and grandchildren even have
decent water to drink at any price.
I'm not a person who believes
that 'that is the way it is and there is nothing you can do about it'.
About hardly anything. With most things, I like to do something about it.
That's the title of my book "The
Future Is Yours' DO Something About It".
You don't have to be real
smart to do something, you just have to have determination. Much of what
we have accomplished over the past few years, we really didn't know what the
outcome would be. We just knew that if we didn't do anything, that nothing
would happen, and, if we did something, that something might happen.
I'd like to start the major
part of this story in mid-April, 2001. Before that time, we have
been energizing water. Mostly to help to make a physical correction
to the body or perhaps even an emotional correction or perhaps even to just
alter our thinking pattern. How do we do this, and why?
Your body is made up of a great
percentage of water. Depending on who you ask you get a different per cent, so I
just don't bother to quote numbers. Water has the capability of being
easily programmable. That is, you can implant thoughts in to water.
And the water seems to hold the thoughts.
We've been fooling with this stuff
for years, with some fairly decent results, but on a small scale. We
reached a point where we could not just continue on a small scale. We had to do
something else. Many times, opportunities come in the way of problems ----
most of the time, this is the way they come. In April 2001, I was
speaking at the Ozark Research Institute in Arkansas and 4 women came to me and
said "There is a big spring about 50 miles from here that we would like to
take you to and show to you. It used to be a very pure spring.
In fact, water was drawn out of it and bottled and sold all over the country.
But it has long since become very polluted and the water there isn't usable any
longer."
I knew what they wanted; I
just didn't know what to do about it. They took me out there, it is
a beautiful spring, roughly 25' in diameter, 25' deep, it produced 38,000,000
gallons of water every 24 hours. It's known as Blue Springs, right north
of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I got a little ways away from these people to
think, because I figured --- they brought me out here, thinking I could do
something. I wished they were right. I started communicating, as best I
could, with some of the spirits of the land there. I found that there were
some Indian spirits still around that spring. This was on the Trail of
Tears where the Cherokee people were marched from Cherokee, North Carolina in to
Oklahoma in 1838. About 4,000 or so Indians died along the way. This
was on the trail. Some of them were still there. I asked them
"Would you like me to take you on over to the Spirit World?"
They said "No. What we want you to do is to purify the
water." I said: "Yes, that's a good idea. Do
you have any good ideas as to how this can be done?" But I
didn't get an answer. I thought --- maybe what I need to do is
to communicate with the water.
I didn't know how I was going to do
this, so I took my boots off and I sat there with my feet in there. I
realize its not a normal way to purify water --- soaking your feet in it ---
however, it felt good, and I thought that maybe I can get in contact here and
see what will happen.
What I got next --- you can say I
made it up and you might be right. I prefer to say that the water gave me
a message. The message I got was "Everything had a
frequency". (Which we already knew, we just had not applied it
yet in all the ways that were possible). The message was:
"Scramble
the frequency of the pollutants of the water. And adjust them to the
frequency of pure water."
We had learned that everything has
a frequency. I don't think I found anything yet that does not. The
human body has a frequency --- there is an ideal frequency for the human body.
Only one in several thousand are on that frequency, but there is an ideal
frequency for the human body.
Various diseases have
frequencies. So do emotions. There's a frequency for love, there's a
frequency for hate and fear and depression and joy and happiness and all these
things. The good news is: You have the ability to change these
frequencies. The human mind has a lot more capability than most people
realize. We've done some pretty fair stuff with it, but we have not
yet scratched the surface.
Let me simplify this for you.
You say "Well, how do you do this?" I use what I
call a Dowsing System because I'm a Dowser. I usually use that
system because it works. But what if you are not a Dowser?
Then, you can say a prayer. I don't think it makes a lot of difference.
All that dowsing is --- is a way to focus intent. Which is
basically what a prayer is. All I ever do, is: Ask.
I don't really do anything myself. I "just"
ask. You'll get a lot more accomplished in life, if
you ask, then you will if you don't ask. So ask.
Whenever this message --- I'll use
that term --- came to me to scramble the frequency of the pollutants of the
water, I just take out my pendulum that I always carry in my pocket ---- now
what would I have done if I hadn't had a pendulum? I would have just
asked anyway. Since the pollutants are much higher than the
frequencies of pure water, the pendulum went in a counter clockwise manner.
This is all we did. I probably said a few words of gratitude to the Spirit
of the Water, or something to that effect, because that is the way I think.
It was all over and I really didn't
know if we had accomplished anything or not. But I thought I tried and I
would rather try and fail than I would not try at all.
I sought out who I thought were
some of the best dowsers in North America because a lot of them were my friends.
And this was the way I framed the question: "Would you do me a favour.
Would you go back in time to the 1st of April [2001] and check out Blue Springs,
Arkansas. And tell me what is the condition of the water concerning the
purity of the water." Now there have been various numbers
given, because not all dowsers agree on exactly the same thing --- we may read a
different scale, we may have a little different way of interpreting things ---
the numbers were a little different. Not a great deal, but some. The
bottom line was: Very Polluted. Now --- would you do me one
more favour? Would you move time forward to the first of May [2001], and
check the spring again. Every one has said: What did you do?
The purity is 95-100%.
Okay. So what do we have here?
We have a bunch of people who have all swung pendulums in the same direction and
arrived at the same conclusion? Does that prove anything? No,
but its pretty decent evidence. Last week, I happened to get an
email, from one of the ladies who took me up there and she had bought the
spring. And had the water tested by the Nature Conservancy.
And they said it was one of the purest springs they had ever tested.
38,000,000 gallons a day worth. What did we do? We just asked.
We asked with respect. You get a lot more by having respect.
This was what really got us started. We only got the scientific
confirmation this past week. But just the dowsing confirmation was enough
to give me confidence to start telling people how to do this and to start
putting the word out. And people started listening.
So let's move time on up to last June
[2002]. I was visiting the Huszczo family, in Burford (Ontario) and
Walter (Huszczo) had gotten a bunch of water from various sources.
He had energized this water with various means. He had one sample
from the Lourdes spring --- over in France --- the healing water over there.
He had also asked if I would energize some water. He wanted to do an
experiment. It looks like we had 8 containers of water here. He had
them numbered 1 through 8. I did not have a clue which water was in
which glass or bottle. My job is to put them up here and set them on the
table. Walter's job was to go way back through the hallway, and come
towards them with his dowsing rods. Where the dowsing rods crossed
---- that would be the line indicating the edge of the energy field of the
water. There is an energy field to everything, for those of you who may
not know --- you have seen pictures of this. To make it real simple, it is
like Jesus' picture with a "halo" around his head. That is his
aura. This is an energy field. Water also has an energy field.
A normal bottle of water has an energy field of 5 - 5 1/2 inches. That is
just as a point of reference from what I am going to tell you now.
When Walter would test the water, I still
didn't know which water we were testing, I would simply write down the distance,
then set up another one. We went through all 8 bottles like that.
Every bit of the energizing of the
water worked. It looks like the least we had went out 10 feet.
The water from the spring over in France, the healing water, went out 30 feet.
The water that I had energized, simply by holding it, and you can say I said an
affirmation, or said a prayer or made a request --- pick whichever one you like
the best --- went out 60 feet.
The one that went out the furthest
--- not that day but 3 days later, after he had done some more work on it, went
out 80 feet. That was some water he had put in a structure that he
has created. (You can see some of these "energy
structures" at the booth, #805, upstairs on the exhibit floor.)
He had put this water in the one that he calls the Flower of Life.
It expanded out to 80 feet. It took a day or so to do that.
What we are saying here is that everything we did worked. Some things
worked better than others.
Then we decided to check the
swimming pool. He goes towards the swimming pool with his dowsing
rods --- this is not city water, it is well water --- and the rods cross at
approximately 3 feet -- which is reasonable. My spring water at home has
an energy field of approximately 40 inches. I understand that is
comparable to a bottle of water that goes out 5 1/2 inches. He said
"why don't you take that water and pour it in the swimming pool to see if
you can change the energy [field] of the water in the swimming pool?"
I said: "No, let's take one drop." I stuck my finger
down in that glass of water, I put it in the pool, sloshed it around. I
said "Ok, Walter, measure it with your dowsing rod and let's see what
happens." The rods crossed at 40 feet. In a matter
of less than 5 minutes we had increased the energy field of 23,000 gallons of
water from 3 feet to 40 feet with the use of 1 drop.
Now that is good evidence to me,
because I believe in his abilities. But scientifically, this is not [yet]
credible. I had another bright idea. I said "Walter, go way out
in the field and come back and tell me what happens." The rods
crossed at 200 feet. What did we do? We simply mentally took the
Flower of Life, which was sitting over in the corner and put the energy of it in
the swimming pool. But we didn't tell him what we did. We just did
it.
We were really excited about this,
but we didn't know quite what to do with it. The following week,
Larry and I were travelling out in Alberta. Walter called one night and
said that he had had a burn on his arm, about 3/8 inch wide, that hadn't healed.
He got in to the pool, when he got out he noticed that it was all healed.
Seeing that, he invited some of his neighbours with aches and pains and limps in
to his pool. They came out and they weren't hurting any longer. At
that point, we knew we had something. We still don't know quite what it
is, but we are working on it.
There were 7 of us out there ---
for those of you who have read my book, Chapter 8 is devoted to a couple of
friends of mine who live in a little cabin in Northern Alberta, Winnie and Bill
Askin. We measured the water out there on a Bovis scale.
A Bovis scale, to my understanding (which is quite limited) is a scale of
measurement with which practically anything can be tested. But I did not
know how to do that. So I went outside and got a bottle of water
from the rain barrel outside. I brought it inside and I asked Bill to test
it with his Bovis Scale, to come up with some type of scientific unit of
measurement for testing, not just some arbitrary scale of 1 to 10 --- which is
something we do often. He checked it out and got a reading of 2,000.
I took the water and I
energized it. How did I do that? I didn't do anything more than:
say a prayer, make a request, say a few words of respect --- whatever it is you
want to say. And I gave it back to him, and said: "I'd like for
you to check it again." It went to 100,000. Then we
passed it around. There were 7 of us there. Every one there did
whatever they knew how. We didn't necessarily copy each other, we just did
what we each knew how to do. The energy went to 1,000,000.
Bill's wife, Winnie, had a sore ankle, that I had not been able to help with.
It kind of bothered me, but I just had not been able to help the woman.
But I got a bright idea. I said "Winnie go get yourself a pan,
big enough to put your feet in. I want to try something." I
took the water, and I put a "thought form" in it. A thought form
is really nothing more than an intent, but I did not tell anybody what I did.
(If you want to experiment, sometimes, you don't tell anyone until after the
fact.) She brought the pan in, I said "Put your feet in
it." I poured about half the bottle of water in it and she said
--- even before I finished pouring the water "Oh my, I've never felt
water like this before. The energy of the water is coming up through my
feet and legs and all through my body." That was the thought form I
put in it --- it was that the energy of the water would go all through her body.
I asked "How does your ankle feel?" It didn't hurt.
We were on a road trip for 3 weeks after that. It still didn't hurt.
What we did --- we put another
thought form in to the water --- that the water would energize all water that it
touched, equal to that of the original water --- to equal or exceed the original
water --- and that the process would be repeated continually. We stopped
along the way and we poured a few drops of water in to the Peace River and the
MacKenzie River and in to various lakes --- with the intent that the energy of
this water would transfer to other water and so on.
If you have scientific questions such as how did we know it would work, did we
have permission to do it, what would the authorities think about it, did we get
a permit and if so is it notarized and when does the date expire --- I have a
blanket answer: Either lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.
I don't deal with a lot of stuff like that. You just do the best you can
do and you hope for the best and you don't worry about the details. We
didn't know what was going to work. We still don't. But we know a
little bit about what is going to work --- because it has. We just don't
know the bottom line yet.
Okay, the plot thickens and
time moves on....
November --- we had learned more about water then. We had learned
about surface tension. I had known a little about it, but very little.
I talked to a gentlemen, a doctor, who had a lot more knowledge about it than I
did. He read my book and called one night and I told him about the Water
Project we are trying to start. He started telling me about the surface
tension of water, which is measured by a unit of measurement called a
"dyne". As he talked, I started to check out my spring.
I said to him "I don't understand much about this, what the numbers
should be, but I am checking here and it tells me that the water in my spring
has a surface tension (the amount of pressure it takes to break the surface of
water. Every one has seen a dry leaf floating on top of the water. That is
because the leaf did not break the surface tension). If the surface
tension is too high, the water cannot saturate the cells enough to carry
nutrition to the body or to remove waste material from the body --- and the
cells will die --- which is why people die.
There
was an experiment --- and I'm quoting what I have been told here --- Marilyn
(Gang, from the Toronto Dowsers) did some research on it --- that there was a
gentleman who won a Nobel Prize for his work (Dr. Alexis Carrel won a Nobel
Prize for his work in the field of transplantation) --- he took a heart of a
chicken and in laboratory conditions --- he reduced the surface tension of
water, fed nutrition to this heart, which was still alive, and removed the waste
material from the cells. But the experiment had to be discontinued ---
after 37 years, because the thing never died. This got my interest.
When I was checking the surface tension
of the water in the spring, I said to the doctor "this looks like 90 dynes,
does that mean anything to you?" And the doctor said "that's
probably about right". My next question was: "What is the
ideal surface tension for my body? I'm getting 47. Does that make
any sense?" He said "You are probably right, as it is usually
between 46 and 48." The next thing I did was to ask:
"Can I change the surface tension in the spring to the ideal surface
tension of my body?" So we tried, and we probably succeeded. I
have some physical evidence that we did succeed --- no absolute proof.
So Walter and I were discussing this and when I
was here in November he said "I would like for you to test something for
me." He sat a bottle of water and a cup of water on the table in
front of me and said "I would like for you to test the surface tension of
this water." I checked the glass first, and I said "I get
about 87 dynes, does that make any sense?" He said "yes, it just
came out of the faucet." I said "well, that's right, 90 for my
spring, 87 for your well. But this bottle is not making any sense to me at
all. I get that it is at 45 dynes. That is not reachable.
Apparently I have messed up in my dowsing." Walter said "There
is something I did not tell you. I put the bottle of water in the Flower
of Life structure." I asked --- why 45? The surface tension for
my body is 47. why 45? So I checked to see what is the ideal surface
tension for Walter's body, and I got 45.
It was very obvious to me that we were
dealing with a very high degree of intelligence here. So we did an
experiment, the night before last. We took various energy structures, as
he has in his display upstairs --- he and Larry and I each put our initials on a
different bottle of water. Each one of us set the bottle of water in or on
each one of the structures. The next morning, we checked the surface
tension of each of the bottles. We had tested and found that each one of
us had a different ideal surface tension for our body. Walter was 45,
Larry was 46 and I was 47. The next morning the water was all at the ideal
surface tension for each one of us. My bottle was at 47, Larry's was at
46, and Walter's was at 45.
We think we've got something here.
Marilyn here has really promoted this
tremendously. In November she said "Would you energize a 5 gallon
container of water for us? Which I will then pour in to small bottles and
distribute them." She's calling it ECH20
-- Energized Cosmic Water. So we did that. There is some
upstairs at the booth, and we are getting feedback. She has her project
going here for all over Canada, and with some people in the States --- this is
being shipped to them. One of the pieces of information that is real
interesting is a fellow who handles radionics. He says he got a bottle of
the water from the Toronto Dowsers --- the water is free, they charge for the
shipping and the bottles --- he said "I was going to test the energy
for it but I can't do that. I don't have a scale that goes high
enough." I told him I didn't exactly understand how the devices
work as I have limited exposure to them, but I did see enough about them to
think they work. He said "Let me tell you what else I did --- I took
3 drops of that water, which I put in to container #2, which I then filled with
ordinary water, and in 5 minutes I couldn't test that water either."
I told him "That was a thought form
I put in to the water. That it would energize all water that it touched,
equal to or to exceed the original water, and, that the process would be
continued." Now I get questions such as how long would it take
to purify Lake Ontario. I don't have a clue. I simply don't know,
folks. We've been stumbling in the dark, but it seems as if we are headed
in the right direction.
What has amazed me over the years,
and I put something like this in the last book that I wrote --- it won't be out
for awhile --- in all the classes I have done, I have taught people to the best
of my ability how to energize water and some of the things they can do with it.
This is what never ceases to amaze me. At the end of the class people will
come up to me and ask "Is it okay if I use this energized water to
help my child?" They need my permission? It's your water, it's
your kid, it's your thoughts --- why do you need me?
People have been brainwashed from
the time they went to school, that you don't do anything without permission.
I just don't buy that theory. You do whatever you can to help your family,
your friends, your community and your fellow man. You don't have to ask
somebody if it is okay. You are intelligent human beings. Or you
wouldn't be here.
So what I want to do, is I want you
to believe in yourself. You don't have to come to me to energize
your water for you. You can get a bottle of it from Marilyn if you want
to, and you can take it and you can energize your own water. Over and over
again. But you really don't need me. I only got the project
started. We might start it in another country somewhere, or we may help
you do something if you want to do it. Let's go on as to what can be
done with this. I'll give you a little bit of the feedback that we have
had from it.
We had a client, in Richmond,
Virginia, about 2 months ago. I had never met this woman -- she lives 300
miles away. She was on heavy doses of morphine and wanted to reduce the
dosage. Her doctor told her that it was medically impossible, that no one
had ever done that and it could not be done. So she called me.
I don't have any kind of a degree, so I don't know that it can't be done.
We call this Intelligent Ignorance. We don't know that it can't be done so
we just do it anyway. Actually, that's how Walter built the Flower
of Life. He consulted some engineers and they told him it couldn't be
done, so he had no choice. He built it anyway.
On the phone, I told the woman:
Put your glass on the table and I'll see what I can do for you. I
energized the water to reduce her body's dependency upon morphine. She cut
the dosage by 30% the first week. It's not supposed to be possible to do
that. I didn't know that, I didn't believe it, and she believed me instead
of the other advice she got and she was able to do it.
You have to be careful with this.
A friend who wasn't feeling too well called me. She, too, lives a couple
hundred miles away. I said, we probably need to cleanse all the
waste material out of your body. We did. It gave her diarrhea.
I energized the water with the intent to cleanse the waste material from her
body and it worked. She had diarrhea all the next day. So sometimes
be a little careful as to what you do with it.
Let's get back to some semi
scientific evidence. 3 years ago, I received a phone call from a
lady in California --- someone I did not know --- who had a well in California,
who had a well that was very badly polluted. It got even more polluted
during the rainy season because of the surface water seeping in to it.
She wanted to know if I could do something with it. I said: I don't
know, we can try, and see what happens.
I now have a water analysis report
of before and after. The time between the reports was from the 9th of
September to the 30th of November. The pollutants decreased by 50%.
They did another water analysis 30 days later, it was reduced by another 50%.
Larry and I were travelling across Saskatchewan this summer and we stopped to
stay with someone who had a very high concentration of arsenic in their well.
He asked if Larry and I would work on it. We tried --- we never worked on
arsenic before, we didn't know how, but we thought that we'd try something.
About 2 months later we received a
very enthusiastic phone call from him. The arsenic had decreased by 90%.
What are you going to do with this
information? Say it was interesting? Go out the door? If you
do, you wasted your time being here this morning. Go out and Do Something!
You all drink water! You, your kids, your grandkids, and all of your
descendants will drink water, assuming, there is some left to drink. This
is not the most critical issue we are working on, I'm going to talk about that
one tomorrow, but this may be the second most critical one.
Number One, I want you to be able
to believe in yourself. People are giving their soul to their priest and
their preacher, their money to the banker, their health to the doctor and their
kids to the school system and in so doing they lost the power to control their
lives. I'm just trying to get you to take your power back.
I want to give you a brief idea ---
I'm going to be teaching a class next weekend --- you can get the details at the
booth from Marilyn --- energizing water and going in to the details on it will
be part of the class --- if you can't attend I'll give you a very short version
of what to do. If you do nothing more than take the water --- a cup of
water, a bottle of water, whatever --- and say a prayer over it --- that will
help a lot. Because there is a website --- there is a fellow from Japan
(Dr. Masaru Emoto) who has been taking pictures of water --- he would freeze the
droplet of water and take a picture of it. The bottom line is that pure
water has very delicate structure like a snowflake. Very polluted
water has a structure like a handful of mud. What he found was that the
water responded to Intent --- which is what we have known all
along. He just did it more scientifically, and proved what he did with
photographs.
So Marilyn had a conversation with
the Secretary General of his organization about a month ago and he has put the
Toronto Dowsers link and all the work based on the stories I have shared with
you and the other information that Marilyn has written on that. So we are
reaching people now in a lot of different parts of the world.
How long will all this take?
We don't know. We told you about energizing a well, we had a few gallons
of water, and, the biggest story I told you so far is about the spring with
38,000,000 gallons of water that was purified after our efforts.
Water responds. Water
responds to thought, to intention, to prayer, to programming. And the
water that touches the programmed water will respond and so on and so forth.
The water will respond, if shown respect. The earth will respond, if shown
respect. You will respond to respect if it is shown to you. The
earth and the water will do the same thing. Thank you for your
attention. "

Raymon spoke to the Toronto Dowsers at their April 2003 meeting.
Here are some water related notes from that meeting:
With the Water Project, Raymon energized the water in various ways, such
as:
- Adjust it to the appropriate surface tension of the person using it
- Energize any water that it touched, equal to or to exceed it
- You will gain increased benefits of this water if you will put your own intent
in to it.
- Every time you have a drink of water, have the mentality that it is serving
the purpose you intend.
- He put in a thought form to cleanse all waste material from his cells.
- Put in a thought form that it will give you the ability to energize more water
- For bodies of water: Remove the spirit of anger and fear from the water, of
the sea creatures
- He combined the Water Project and Raising Consciousness so that every time you
do this (drink water) this raises your level of consciousness and the levels of
consciousness of humanity.
As we are energizing the water, and drinking it, Raymon had another
excellent idea: Energize the moisture in the air!!! That
any time it is breathed in by anyone it will raise their level of consciousness
and compassion. !!! It
won't cost you anything and you don't need a permit.
A question was asked:
How can we energize water coming in to the house? (or apartment)
Raymon suggests: Draw a diagram of the house and the water line
coming in to it. Draw an energy device, or, make one, out of cardboard ---
whatever. "All" you're doing with this is enhancing your belief
system. Put the device on, then start checking the energy of your
water. See what happens. WOW!
On Raising Consciousness:
This is Raymon's Number One Goal and Project. To
Raise Consciousness. This is the best way to progress, to
achieve our goals.
He started this because Bill Askin told him "1% of the population of
humanity, if properly focused, can change the consciousness of humanity."
At that time, the measured it to be .7%. And with the encouragement
of Chief Two Trees, and Johnna Rae Bartges, we started the Call To Action.
The first time was August 26, 2002. After that, it was measured at
1.3%
It worked so well, it was decided that they would do this every equinox and
solstice.
September 22: 6%
December 22: 9%
Then it started raising on its own. They heard about James Twyman's
project in February. "It was a good idea, but the problem was,
although those people are good hearted, they didn't know the first thing about
screaming demons. We cleaned it out." [Note: this is what
happens frequently. People want to send beneficial energies to a place or
a person but do not realize that first non beneficial energies need to be
"cleaned out."] After that day, energy raised 3%.
We had our Consciousness Raising on the Mound March 22.
Consciousness is now over 21%. The morning after our Mound event Raymon told me
that our efforts raised the consciousness by 2%. [NOTE: in his just published -
March 2003 book "I" - (the follow up to "Power vs. Force")
Dr. David Hawkins discusses that only 22% of the world's population calibrates
over 200 (out of 1000 on his Map
of Consciousness).]
"Do
you know any time in the history of the world when there has been so much
organizing for peace? It would not have happened without the raising of
the consciousness of humanity."
Raymon
gave a workshop April 5 and 6. This is what he said at the beginning of that

Paul Craddock’s Dowsing News
MARCH 2007
EDITORIAL
Welcome to
another edition of dowsing news, well finally spring's here at last the daffodils
are out and the clocks are changing in a few weeks time so the days will be
longer, a time for increased activity! an opportunity to brush up your dowsing
skills and knowledge! I have just published the New South Coast Dowsers
programme for this year packed full of exciting meetings, field Trips and
courses. see the end of this news letter or look on our
web page.
Have you heard
of cosmic ordering? there are now many books on the subject since Noel Edmunds
admitted he used it. It's a system of manifesting your desires from the
cosmos and has resulted in many rags to riches stories. Some of you may have
seen or heard of the DVD "The Secret of Attraction" there was a link
to watch it free on an earlier newsletter. Some of you may have
heard of Raymon Grace who wrote the book "The Future Is Yours Do Something
About It!" where he shows dowsing not only gives you answers, but can be
used to send energy, or carry your intent. Interested? come along and learn
and try out some of theses techniques for your self on Monday (March 5th)
at South Coast Dowsers meeting. We are also running a one day course on dowsing
for intent on April 21st.
I have two articles
for you in this edition, both from recent articles in the press. One on
Stonehenge and the other on dowsing including Gordon Wright who is the professional
water diviner talking to South Coast Dowsers in September.
And a finally,
a message to all to all students past and present (ultimately we are
all students). Remember, your dowsing WILL NOT work all of the time. Some times
it's really important that it should work and still it doesn't. Every time
that it fails to work you need to find out why it is not working, correct it and
move on or you will not progress any further. Remember, it took the great inventor
Edison 10,000 attempts to invent the light bulb. each time he
"failed" he said " I am moving closer to finding the way it will
work!" Now all you need to do is flip the switch! If you need help
drop me an e-mail!

DOWSING COURSES
DOWSING FOR INTENT COURSE
This one day special course will
show you how to use dowsing as a tool of intent to give you the ability to
beneficially affect your lives and the lives of others. The course will show how
to manage energy in such a way as to benefit those to whom you direct it. You do
not require complete information to solve a problem. All things are composed of
energy , including our thoughts, future events are composed of thoughts not yet
materialised. There are many probable futures and we have the ability to choose
the best one. Using the dowsing methods taught on this course we can change the
energy around us and thereby change our future. Tutor: Paul Craddock.
Date: Saturday Saturday April
21st & at the Ocean View Hotel Bournemouth. 10am. to
5pm. Cost: £49.00

Divine
Intervention Pours Cold Water on the Sceptics
From the Sutton Coldfield
Observer from 2nd February 2007
An Ancient tradition dating bock over 7,000 years,
dowsing was most commonly used to find water. Over time the method has evolved
and people have dowsed for everything from minerals end precious Stones to lost
objects and even missing people. But with no concrete evidence to prove its
accuracy, many remain sceptical of a technique, which claims to expand your
abilities beyond our three-dimensional limitations. Observer reporter HANNAH GREAVES
spoke to West Midlands Dowsers Association founder, Michael Guest and Sutton
Coldfield water diviner, Gordon Wright to find out more.
Mention dowsing and the image that may spring to mind
is of someone holding a couple of hazel twigs to detect water or minerals
underneath the earth’s surface. But, after meeting with members of the West
Midlands Dowsers Association. I learnt there is a lot more to it than meets the
eye.
Michael Guest, from Walsall, has been dowsing Since
1977 and co-founded the West Midlands dowsers Association in 1980. Fellow dowser
and professional water diviner, Gordon Wright lives in Sutton.
“It
is a unique skill that Gordon has,” said Michael. “People may be sceptical
about dowsing but when you rely on it for your income, as Gordon does, you have
to have confidence that it works because a mistake can be very expensive.”
The chosen site for my first attempt at dowsing was
the car pork at Wyndley Leisure Centre. Gordon dowses using plastic rods which
are joined at one end with coiled metal wire to form a ’Y’ shape.
“It doesn’t matter what the rods are made of,”
he explained, “they can be wood, but I find if I use wooden ones. I con only
use them once because for me, they retain the memory of the previous use.”
So we went with plastic and I admit I was sceptical.
I watched Gordon hold the Y shape aloft so the joined end balanced
upright, and then paced the car park slowly until the end tipped forward and he
stopped. “There’s a pipe here,” he confirmed, after walking over the spot
a couple of times, using the rods to find the start and end of the pipe.
Then it was time to put my dowsing skills to the test.
I walked over the some spot, holding the dowsing rods in exactly the same way
but nothing happened, it wasn’t the reaction I’d hoped for.
“It does take practice.” Michael reassured me,
“people improve with experience.” So
I tried again, this time using a different technique. Michael uses thin wire
dowsing rods, bent at a ninety-degree angle, which you hold out in front of you,
parallel to the ground and each other, as you walk. If they move left or right,
or cross over, it signals, a discovery. The
difficulty though is keeping the rods steady - blustery weather conditions can
easily blow them off course.
But as I moved over a particular spot I could
definitely feel a slight ‘drag’, and this, Michael told me, was successful
dowsing.
There have been many theories behind the technique but
as yet nothing concrete to fully explain how it works. Some argue it is a
science, others may say on art, but perhaps the only way to understand it is to
experience it for yourself.
“There is a scientific theory which says dowsing is
the human body’s reaction to the earth’s background magnetic field,” said
Michael. “The earth is a dynamo, a
magnet which generates a field. By dowsing you are reacting to variations or
disturbances in that field. “The
rods are useful in showing the slight change in the tension of your muscles
which happens when you experience a change.”
How we do it though, he says, is a different matter
and there have been a number of theories about it in the last few years
including American research which has discovered what appears to be magnetic
sensitivity in the human brain.
The other instrument commonly used for dowsing is a
pendulum, which answers a dowser’s question ‘yes’, or ‘no’ by
oscillating in different directions. And this, Michael admits, is where the
scientific theory falls down.
“A pendulum will give you information out of your
own intuition or subconscious and it can be used to answer all sorts of things,
for example it could be used to test compatibility to food.
“Dowsers can use it to dowse for water over a map of
an area rather than the land itself, or to find out the depth of water
underground,” he explained.
But, Michael says, the ability to dowse isn’t
necessarily a gift – about 80% of people can learn to do it. And on the other
side of the dowsing coin is its healing ability.
Michael’s wife Juliet has been using her dowsing
skills in a healing capacity for over 20 years. She uses her pendulum to enable
her to send healing to people for different problems. “There is no set way to
perform the healing: she said. “It is a very
individual thing and my method has evolved over a number of years.”
The person in question needn’t be present and Juliet
begins by posing three questions -, May I? Can I? and Should I?’ to give her
the protection she feels she needs to go ahead with the healing.
“It is important to address the questions to
something or someone outside of yourself to prevent you from taking up the
ailment you are trying to heal she explained.
If the pendulum gives a positive response to these
questions she then sends healing to the person in question. Juliet believes it
works through an extension of her intuition. The mind is extremely powerful”
she says. “You wonder where this ‘cosmic knowledge’ comes from but when
you have in your mind the person their need and a possible remedy, by using the
pendulum you can draw it all together.”
Juliet admits, while she cant prove anything
scientifically she feels by using her skills she can at least try to help. You
have to trust the pendulum and for me it works she said.

Earth Energies– The Living Serpents
Peter Knight
Peter gives an illustrated
presentation based on his new book, 13 Moons - Conversations with the Goddess.
Tonight he will put forward the case that the serpentine energies we dowse are
not just part of inorganic grids or magnetic fields per se, but are evidence
that the very Land itself possesses Life Force, and is in fact alive with
Consciousness. By looking at the earth and its sacred sites in this way, Peter
has found that his dowsing abilities have been heightened. Although an atheist
can be a good dowser, he advocates, by looking at the Land through new eyes,
through the eyes of the Ancients, we can open up a two-way communication with
the Spirit of the Planet. Peter is author of 5 books on our ancient heritage, is
co-founder of the Dorset Earth Mysteries Group and leads field trips to sacred
sites.

I
have a great article for you in this edition from the late Elizabeth
Sulivan, I had the pleasure of talking to Elizabeth many times at the various
British Society of Dowsers congresses over the years. She truly was a remarkable
dowser, who lived in Benton Castle in Pembrokeshire,
west Wales. One of her achievements was
building a gigantic labyrinth on her grounds, using her dowsing, the site was so
impressive she once told me the RAF whist doing a fly past on a training mission
actually turned round to investigate! Please
take your time to read it though it is a prime example of how dowsing can help
us and is also rather humorous in places!

MAP
DOWSING FOR WATER
By Elizabeth Sulivan
Looking
for water on the ground can be a tedious business if there are a lot of streams
to be sorted out, while plotting it on a map gives a far better overall picture
of the possibility of obtaining it to the best advantage. Borehole sites,
potability and depthing can also be found.
Disaster
struck us here in the hottest heat wave, combined with a drought, the papers
told us we were having this century: suddenly, not a drop of water was to be had
out of any tap. Later it was discovered that one of the masons working on the
fabric of the Norman tower had slaked his plaster from a hose fixed to a tap
that was occasionally used to raise the level in a fishpond. It was not a tap he
should have used, but the fact remains that he pushed the hose back under the
water lilies and omitted to turn the tap off. It ran flat out for ten days
completely draining the holding tank and catchment area a mile away in the
woods, and the capped springs could not keep the supply up in the unusual
weather conditions at the time. For over thirty years we had always had masses
of water: we used what we needed and the surplus swept off the land in rivulets
making ponds and boggy ground in the woods en route to the Haven.
Living
miles from anywhere with no water at all can be an awkward predicament to be in.
In a panic I telephoned the Water Board and a man in a van arrived within half
an hour. I took him up to the holding tank in the woods and he thought their
tanker might be able to get near enough to get its hose through
the trees to fill it. £75 a fill!” he said, “and why didn’t you get connected
to the Board years ago when it was cheaper?” “We have always had oodles of
water,” I replied, “But clearly I must get joined up now.”
We telephoned
the Board offices on our return to the house and a man in a smart car arrived to
measure up. It appeared the operation would cost me around £30,000. I was
aghast! The inclination to have the tank filled up, put the property on the
market and bolt abroad did cross my mind before I decided to try and find water
off a map myself which I had never done before.
The
house I live in is a 13th Century Norman fortification perched on an outcrop of
rock to defeat tunneling, it consists of two towers joined by a gatehouse with a
curtain wall round the back, and it could never have been constructed in such a
strategic position if there had been no water to
hand since it clearly saw action, being bombarded
by a poop
gun from the Haven below, evidenced by the number of iron culverines we find
scattered around. It
has always had the name of ‘Castle’ despite its size,
which saved it from having a Regency
block tacked on to it like others in its chain.
The
Normans often built on Saxon defensive sites and that there was one here was
demonstrated by the grinding stones, arrowheads and flint implements from an
even earlier age found below a terrace next to the castle itself, and one of the
most beautiful
axe heads ever seen was dug up in our orchard.
Part
of the boulder wall is 18’ thick and both towers are anchored on pinnacles of
rock of deferring heights actually enclosed within the building itself, thus the
living space inside is severely limited so half the room space of an average
house is contained in a 300-year cottage 50 yards away, rated as one with the
castle — an improbable situation which has both advantages and disadvantages
for modern patterns of living.
There
are other hazards such as arrow slits for windows and the big tower lurches and
shudders at the impact of the strong gusts of wind that sweep up channel which
can be disconcerting if one is lying inert in bed. It also ensures that any rug
not physically attached to the floor becomes corrugated. Both my sons slept
happily in the circular rooms in the towers during the school holiday and when
my husband wanted to make a study and library up there, they were installed in
the cottage spare rooms that were large enough to accommodate their gear when
they were home, but we were ‘in the dog house’ for initiating their move.
The
bed in the solar still hangs ready to be pulled down for any unexpected guest
should the cottage spare rooms be occupied, but a one night stand does not
acclimatize anyone to a building safely moving to a buffeting it has taken
through hundreds of years. If it stood rigid, it would have tumbled long ago.
All the same, some of the young barristers we put up, who came from London to
fight the oil pollution cases, used to come down to breakfast pea-green as if
they had spent the night in a swell at sea and the first thing they always said
was, “is this place haunted?”
Old
buildings can retain a residue from their past and this castle is no exception:
we have a horse that clatters up on a hard-core road and pulls up outside the
only entrance, and we have a gravel sweep 0utside. I dowsed the old
road in, and when huge stones sticking up
out of the grass of one of the upper wards were moved to facilitate mowing, the
hard-core was exposed as dowsed on map: its route a far more sensible one than
our present drive which dips down through the woods and takes a lot of
maintenance.
connsidering
I busied myself with finding a secret tunnel to the beach and moved 12 ton of
boulders from the solar wall to expose four fireplaces and a passage to the
gatehouse by dowsing the plans before confirmation so the ground, it now seems
strange I never thought of searching for water off a map until it appeared
imperative that some was found here.
I
got the estate maps out and was delighted to find I had three underground
streams coming from the west — one nearly 4,000’ down where it crossed my
beach. They all curled round far apart but eventually took the same route from
the orchard past the corner of the castle’s curtain wall.
It
was exactly here I dowsed the well later — flowing 75’ down at this point to
rejoin the Haven, 200’ below.
By
the time the field telegraph had alerted the borehole man, we were swimming with
water again as the springs had miraculously resuscitated within a few hours.
Nevertheless he asked if he could come and see me. Assuring him I needed no
bore, he came. In conversation he told me he had now done a hundred bores in the
county and immediately alarm bells rang as surely no Water Authority could allow
this pilfering of the commodity they charged for to continue. As he had just
done a bore at the next-door farm, he could bring his equipage down to me
without using his low-loader. A deal was done and he arrived at 10 the next
morning.
On
my map dowse I had found exactly where I should put a bore down which I
confirmed by walking up the line of my three streams to the bottom of the
orchard where my V rod slammed down. I then used my pendulum and dowsed on to a
spot of about 3” diameter. I discovered this was also the center of a blind
spring and later, when I had done many dowses for water from the map, I found
that when I picked up where a borehole should be — using this method — the
position I got for it was always on a blind spring. And Guy Underwood says
professional dowsers always sink wells on blind springs.
Next
day, hearing I wanted the bore to go down on a spot I had picked up off a map
completely confounded the borehole operator. He kept insisting his father should
do the dowsing and it would only cost me £100. And when I told him I had never
before dowsed for water it was clear he thought he had a nut case on his hands
and persevered in proffering his parent’s services but, finding me adamant, he
went into the operation in a dubious frame of mind not helped by my insistence
he hit my mark.
His
equipage was a huge tractor type machine and the orchard was on a slope so every
time he got the drill up from the horizontal position, it was carried n, to the
vertical and missed my mark, he had to start all over again, and this meant
moving the vehicle which carried and powered the drill so that the atmosphere
became strained. To make matters worse the back wheels had to be blocked up to
make everything level each time.
When
he eventually hit my mark I told him I had depthed the first water at 35’, but
as his father had never done this, he did not believe it could be done and
therefore took no notice when the red dust spewing out from the drill from the
rab it was going through started to coagulate. I moved away when the scale
showed 34’ shouting to him we would get water at 35’. He nodded and stayed
lounging against his machine a foot away from the whirling drill shaft.
At
35’ exactly we had a 50’ geyser and even I got wet but the driller got
drenched.
From
that moment his attitude changed. He toweled dry, put on his oilskins and came
across to ask how I managed to depth water. I confessed I had never done it
before or seen water drilled for and asked if he always got geysers. “Not like
that one!” he said, but it was nothing to what was to come. My second depthing
produced a splendid display but the third was spectacular — the water soared
far, far above the 50’ Norman tower and a crack like gunfire sounded from
under our feet.
The
drill clearly hit a fault in the rock and released water which was under great
pressure and, indeed, this must have been so because the water level in the
borehole, which started off 35’ down, had now been pushed up to 14’ below
ground level — a rise of 21’.
The
driller told me he had been doing this job for 16 years for a living and had
never before had such violent reactions to his bore and to the farmer, when he
went to collect his low-loader, he said he had had a queer day, a very queer
day, and the lady down there was definitely not from this world! As for me — I
was elated to find I now had 39,000 gallons of water a day should I need it. I
stuck a hose down the borehole and syphoned the water out to run down a cut to
the beach where I had planted some Gunnera, and then with a bucket and stopwatch
measured the flow.
Somehow
the story of the water fireworks we had had here spread around because in no
time at all I had people beating a path to my door clutching maps of their
property, and among them, was my neighbor who wanted confirmation that his
borehole was in the right place, which it most certainly was not. He will have
wasted the money he spent. His bore had had to go deep to connect with a stream,
and this water fed a natural irrigation pond at the bottom of rising ground so
no extra water was gained by this exercise: taking from the borehole was robbing
the pond of its supply.
I
did not point this out to him because I think he already knew it, but I dowsed
for another water source that produced a good flow and found one near his house.
The borehole site I found was, as usual by this method, on a blind spring.
The
connection between boreholes and blind springs is an intriguing one and I cannot
help wondering whether there may be some reason why boreholes should not be put
down unless they do coincide with a blind spring. For some reason it could be
the right thing to do. I am convinced there may be more to this than meets the
eye: for instance, I have a blind spring at the base of my Norman tower — and
I think it is likely the tower was built there because of it since ancient
buildings seem to incorporate blind springs at strategic points of their
construction. What is more I believe blind springs have an effect on the
environment, or perhaps I should say, the unseen environment. They are certainly
beneficial as are the aquastats that join them and a good thing to have under
one’s house rather than a water line.
We
had a ‘black line’ — I call anything that is detrimental to the human
animal a ‘black line’ when I am dowsing — that went through a corner of
the curtain wall and ran along the inside of a room behind a sofa, so affected
nobody, and when I moved its entry to the house with an iron bar, the German
Shepherd guard dog would seek this nook out, but if I moved the iron bar away
and the line was active again, the dog would not go near it. What staggered me
was that directly the borehole was made, my ‘black line’ was erased — it
disappeared forever. In many ways I was sad to lose it as it was so powerful I
used to teach people to dowse on it, but in exchange I have the borehole and
tower blind springs and the aquastat that joins them - all benign.
Thus
my adventure into map dowsing for water with such exciting results led me into
many more similar dowses, which are the greatest fun to do and I am left with
the firm conviction that blind springs have a lot more to offer us than we
perhaps realize. Living on blind springs and aquastats is supposed to cure
rheumatism so maybe water from boreholes and wells sited on them is more
beneficial than from extraction places elsewhere. Who knows?
When
I get a request to find water for a house in the country, I always start by
dowsing to see if it is connected to the mains and, if so, mark the water pipe
in and then find if they have a sewage pipe leading to a cesspit.
Most
people should know where their cesspit is situated but I never gave thought to
the one serving the Lodge until it made its presence known by the most appalling
stench.
We
cleared the brushwood and brambles off the brink of a slope covered with trees
that led downhill and found a huge concrete slab with a removable panel that
could be raised to inspect the contents of the tank beneath it. It was overfull
and the smell was dreadful. For over 50 years it had worked without advertising
its existence with the bacterial activity doing what nature intended — so what
had gone wrong?
I
rang the Council asking for help and the most enormous tanker lorry arrived with
a pipe to suck the contents out. The two men working on the Norman tower went to
watch and, hearing sounds of ribaldry, I walked down to see what it was all
about.
The
cesspit appeared to be full of 3 inch long cream colored slugs. “Whatever are
they?” I asked. Three men grinned at me broadly. “Goodness!” I said,
realizing exactly what they were. “Buckets of them!”
I
had recently had to get rid of the young and obviously virile chap who had
inhabited my Lodge as I could no longer afford to run the shoot after my husband
had died, and the rubber that had gummed the lavatory system up was an
indestructible substance to the bacteria who made degradation of sewage their
life’s work.
I
then discovered that to get this admirable and age-old process working again I
would have to spend a lot of money on replacement bacteria to get it going when
I suddenly remembered an incident from my childhood in Devon when a dead sheep
was used as a starter. Having no dead sheep to hand and realizing it was the
micro-organisms in the gut of the animal that were required, I asked my shooting
tenant’s keeper to put the vermin he shot into the tank.
We
had had an explosion of foxes in the woods who would later starve when nature
redressed the balance, so the next day a lot of grey squirrels, 2 polecats and 5
foxes went in and in no time at all the whole contraption was working sweetly.
Other
people with cesspits must have had similar experiences to notify them of where
their cesspits were sited, if they do not know already, because the modern
household dispels ingredients such as bleach and non degradable washing powders
through its sewage system that bacteria doing this incredibly efficient job
cannot process. Thus, modern man can destroy a system that requires no
maintenance once it has been installed. Presuming, therefore, that most people
know exactly where their cesspit it, I always mark it in when map dowsing which
might confirm to them that my water dowse is correct.

REPORT ON THE DANGERS OF MOBILE PHONES
By David Web
New Forest Dowsers
This
report is in response to the recent media coverage on a Danish study reporting
that there was no increase in cancer rates among those who use mobile phones.
The whistleblower - Dr
George Carlo is a respected
scientist in this field and thorn in the side of the mobile phone industry.
This
Danish study released last week
[7/12/06] from the International Epidemiology Institute (IEI) is getting a lot
of attention by the British media, USA
media (the story featured on
MSNBC), and
many more countries. John Boice who spearheaded this study had originally
approached Dr. George Carlo for funding in the 1990's when Carlo ran the
Wireless Technology Research Group (WTR). Carlo refused to give the IEI any
funding for their proposed study after Boice and his group made it clear that
they were biased towards the industry.
You
see at that time there was talk circulating which many believed that WTR and
Carlo wanted to produce findings which favoured the industry. Carlo was thought
to be an industry crony. He was criticized for delaying the release of certain
studies. The truth was that Carlo had been developing methods and scientific
models to conclusively prove and further clarify his findings which indicated
harm to cell phone users. Boice and the IEI went to the cell phone industry
directly for funding when the WTR refused and guess what? They got the money
that wanted.
Is
all this about money? Well you'd think with names like the Danish Cancer
Registry, the National Cancer Institute, and the International Epidemiology
Institute that all the money is going directly to non-profit, socially conscious
organizations - wouldn't you?
Well
John Boice, the man behind this Danish study worked for the National Cancer
Institute (NCI) and now runs the profit enterprise cryptically named the
"International Epidemiology Institute". More importantly it was the
NCI's Journal who originally published the famed Inskip, et al. study which
strategically supported the "flagrantly altered" (George Carlo quote)
Muscat JAMA study (which Muscat modified under pressure from the industry). This
was during a PR blitz campaign in early 2001 which smeared the release of George
Carlo's book "Cell Phones: Invisible Hazard of the Wireless Age" in
the media.
Muscat's
original work is reported by Carlo have "identified a near tripling in the
risk of neuroepithelial tumours and a correlation between the side of the head
where the phones were used and the side of the head where the tumour was located
that were both statistically significant".
The Muscat study was then butchered when the industry hired
epidemiologist Linda got hold of it. It was presented at two conferences with
two significant changes to the data that have thus changed history in the eyes
of the consumer. So is there a tie between the American Cancer Society (ACS) and
the cell phone industry? Well according to Carlo the ACS released a report
touting cell phones as one of the greatest cancer myths just after scientists
from the ACS testified in Federal Court in Baltimore MD on behalf of the
industry in 2002. The industry then used this report to deflect CNN's press
regarding Johnny Cochran surgeon's belief that his fatal brain tumour was the
result of his cell phone use.
So
are cell phones one of the greatest cancer risks or do you smell industry
corruption? You decide - but be sure you examine the facts first and if the
science is tied to an industry that profits from your deception be sure you
question their conclusions. People need to understand that they can't believe
the government, and so many doctors are incompetent; it's not all their fault,
they've been misled & controlled by the pharmaceutical industry,
governments, BMC and the FDA. If the aforementioned cancer charities are corrupt
how many more are out there, is this case just the tip of the iceberg?

A
SIMPLE TEST FOR GEOPATHIC STRESS
by
Dr. Gunther Schneck
A
kinesiological test can be used to prove the existence of a geopathic stress
place. George Goodheart an American
chiropractor developed in the sixties a method to judge a number of physical
symptoms by, as he says, a “stroke of luck”. The muscular testing method was
named kinesiology
Applied
kinesiology is a system based on the assumption that physical. mental or
biochemical disturbances cause weakening of muscular integrity. The test looks
for quality of muscular reaction and energy supply. rather than the strength of
muscles. Electromagnetic problems in external body energy systems (aura) can be
caused, among many other disturbances, also by geopathic stress.
The
test is done by using pressure on the outstretched arm of the test person (see
picture 1) and the resistance to pressing down is noticed. The functioning of
the kinesiology test can be proved by the test person holding a bag of sugar (or
packet of cigarettes) in the left hand over the navel region (solar plexus).
Immediate weakening will take place (see picture 1).
This
will impress on the test person that this is a valid functioning test (picture).
The
dowser will dowse a neutral place and a geopathic stress place (eg. water vein
crossing etc.).
Place
test person first on neutral place and observe resistance of test person. Then
after a little time when the muscle has recovered from the work load ask the
test person to stand on the geopathic stress place and repeat the kinesiology
test. According to the severity of the geopathic stress place the muscle will be
weaker and the resistance to pressure will be less (picture 2). It is advisable
to ask the test person to try to count down silently from ten to one during
testing so any undue mental influences can be reduced. Of course one could test
first on the geopathic stress point and then on the neutral point. The test
works very well and I have convinced extreme sceptics of the weakening influence
of the geopathic stress place on the energy fields of the body. One of the
sceptics was our local builder whose arm I could not have got down normally even
hanging on it. The builder had to surrender his strength completely being tested
on a particular nasty geopathic stress point and was duly impressed. This test
is easy to do and requires no instrumentation. Of course practice makes perfect
in order to judge reaction to weak geopathic stress places.
MY
WAY OF EXPLAINING DOWSING
By
Jack Temple
June
1999
Events
occur in our lives which propel us onto new pathways we had no idea ever
existed. It was when I picked up a pendulum at the first Mind and Body
Exhibition at Olympia that my life changed. I had no comprehension of dowsing or
what one can achieve with this simple bit of knowledge. In fact the knowledge of
dowsing is so simple that most people reject it out of hand. I can only claim
the distinction of possessing a brain able to use the gift of dowsing to
pinpoint problems in the human body.
I’m
going to stop here and ask you. all of you, to step out of your shoes. I want
you to pretend that you are all farmers and you have a herd of 200 cows all
needing copious amounts of water. There hasn’t been a drop of rain for 4
weeks. The land is parched and your cows are thirsty. Your metered supply is
failing. Too many urban people are watering their gardens. You are now stressed
and sick with a problem with no obvious solution. When discussing the matter
with a friend he suggests approaching a well-known firm specialising in the
sinking of bore holes.
After
a number of seismatic tests you now have in front of you a mass of graphs with
suggested areas that could produce water. The cost of sinking a few trial
boreholes is daunting but even then the proposal is only to analyse the
water
for its purity. Once all the other information is fed into the computer further
discussions will enable the engineers to finalise the next moves.
In
the meantime another friend told you about Mr Edwyn Taylor, an eminent farmer
working 3,000 acres in Northumberland, who’s been a dowser since he was 20, he
is now 81 and he has never ever failed to find water by dowsing. You look at
your friend incredulously.
“You
mean to say you can find water without seismatic tests, without a
laboratory,
without a computer, simply by dowsing?”
“Oh
yes, Edwyn is a reputed dowser and that is what he specialises in.”
“What’s
his telephone number?”
Remember,
you are all still out of your shoes and are all still farmers who are all
worried about your cows and the lack of water for them to drink. Now the first
question Edwyn will ask you is how many cows are there and what other water
needs will arise in the future. He will then use a hazel stick or a special rod
developed by water dowsers for this particular purpose. By dowsing he will
locate the area where the borehole would have to be drilled and then the depth
of the source of water, by dowsing again, of course. He will measure the flow
per minute, by dowsing of course, the purity of the water, by dowsing of course,
the output from the bore hole, by dowsing of course and that is the plan he
would present to you.
Then
you are faced with a choice. Do you go to the firm who has all the modern aids
or do you rely on Edwyn and his dowsing skills and the recommendation that comes
with him? You decide to go to Edwyn, so the borehole goes down, up comes the
water with exactly the supply he forecast with exactly the purity he farecast.
And this is all done by dowsing.
All
of you are now confused particularly when you are faced with the following
questions. How can a man with a rod say to you that the water you so badly need
is available at, say, a depth of 100 feet and that it is flowing at a certain
rate?
Edwyn
has been a water dowser all his life. I know him well and we met only recently
at the British Dowsers Convention held at Ripon in Yorkshire. In fact, Edwyn
asked me to look at one of his knees as it was paining him and he was having to
rely on a stick when walking. Next morning he greeted me with delight, his knee
was not completely better but it was much, much better. You see, I wouldn’t
know where to start if anybody asked me to dowse for water but, the human body,
that is different.
What
is this thing that is so amazing that people reel away from it in incredulous
disbelief? It is (hat the human right brain hemisphere with its gigantic mass of
brain cells enveloped with neurons can actually send out radar waves to any
living object, analyse it and send back an answer via a “yes or no” response
of a pendulum.

AN
INTRODUCTION TO HUNA:
The
Discovery of Huna
By
Peter Eklund
In
the year 1917, Max Freedom Long, then a young man was in search of employment.
He had recently graduated from what is now known as UCLA, it was then known as
the Los Angeles Normal School. There was a program that provided teachers for
the children of government employees sent to Hawaii. It also provided education
to the native Hawaiians. As he was having difficulty finding a job, though his
degree was in psychology, he was soon on his way to the then territory of Hawaii
as a teacher.
He
discovered, much to his alarm, that magic was being practiced in the islands by
the local priests. Spirits walked. Healings were being done. Weather was being
controlled. There were practitioners who could call fish to the shore.
Telepathic messages were being sent & received. The priests, called Kahunas,
walked on lava flows just hardened enough to sustain their weight and still hot
enough to cook meat. People were being prayed to death.
Mr.
Long, being a school teacher and scientifically educated, went to the head of
the Bishop museum, Dr. William Tufts Brigham. Mr. Long requested that Dr.
Brigham explain how these charlatans operated.
First
the head of the museum questioned Long about what he had studied, his reading
and what he had observed about the Kahunas and their practices while in Hawaii.
Then, much to his dismay, Dr. Brigham told him it was not trickery.
When
Mr. Long recovered from his shock, Dr. Brigham began his explanation. Dr.
Brigham said he had been studying Hawaiian magic for forty years. He told him
that it was true magic and that he, Brigham had participated in some of it;
though he had never penetrated to the secret of what was really happening.
He
explained that Kahunas specialized like any profession in the Western world.
Some Kahunas were specialists in canoe building. Some were specialists in
navigating. Polynesians were probably the best navigators in the world prior to
modern science.
Certain
Kahunas were specialists in spiritual matters and magic. There were the temple
Kahunas, who did rituals for the people and the temple as well as magic. There
were the fire walking Kahunas. Also there were the Ana Ana Kahunas who prayed
people to death. There were healing Kahunas of varying specialties. Some used
herbs. Some used manipulation and massage. Then there were also some relied more
heavily on psychology. But they all used magic.
Dr.
Brigham told of a day when he had walked over a hot lava flow under the
protection of three Kahunas. They watched the lava flow into an area and caused
it to become a pool. Then they waited until it had cooled sufficiently so that
it would hold the stones they threw upon it. When it was strong enough to hold a
man's weight, they started their rituals.
They
did their chants and then placed the ritual ti leaves on their bare feet. The ti
plant is native to Hawaii and often used in rituals. Dr. Brigham wrapped the ti
leaves over his hiking boots. The Kahunas informed him that the rituals and that
chants only protected feet. They could not guarantee his shoes or socks. Finally
they decided to offer his boots as a sacrifice.
When
it came Dr. Brigham's turn, he hesitated. They gave him a shove to get him
started. He ran as fast as he could to avoid falling or burning. His boot soles
burned off. His socks burned off. But his feet and the feet of the three Kahunas
were totally unharmed.
He
told of his experiences with the Ana'Ana Kahunas. These were the ones who could
pray people to death. The American's name for what they did was the death
prayer. A much feared local Kahuna had sent the curse upon a Hawaiian employee
of Dr. Brigham's. He had been able to turn a death prayer back upon the Ana'Ana
Kahuna who had sent it.
Dr.
Brigham had discovered that what the Americans called the death prayer was
something else. It was not a prayer. It was a form of spiritualism, coupled with
mesmerism. A low self spirit was either inherited from an ancestor Kahuna or one
he had trapped himself. It was sent to the victim to steal their vital forces
and the victim died.
Using
his own natural powerful voice and persuasive abilities over some hours, he sent
it back to the sender. He could do this because it was one type of Kahuna magic
he had enough limited knowledge to thwart. He did not understand it thoroughly.
Also if the Kahuna had not been so sure no one could stop his power and had
neglected to protect himself, Brigham, would have been in trouble himself. The
spirit sent to kill was called a Unihipili. The term will be explained later.
He
told story after story from his notes about the magic performed by the various
Kahunas he had been able to study.
There
was an instance when a Hawaiian man attending a party had gotten intoxicated and
twisted his ankle and fell into a ditch. The twist caused a compound fracture,
with the bone protruding through the skin.A woman Kahuna attending the same
party immediately covered the fracture with some ti leaves. She commenced her
ritual. When she took away the ti leaves, the leg was whole and uninjured.
When
he finished, he told Mr. Long that he was growing old; and feared he would never
penetrate the veil of secrecy that shroudedthe actuality of what was happening.
He asked Max to take up the study, and started teaching him all he knew up to
that point.
He
brought out all of his notes and case histories. Then he taught Mr. Long what to
look for and what questions to ask, in his quest for the answers as to what was
actually happening.
Dr.
Brigham taught Max Freedom Long that a study of magic must encompass:
1.
The consciousness causing the magic.
2.
The force involved in making the magic.
3.
The medium or substance through which the force operates.
We
know there is a force involved; in Huna we call it mana. People have many
explanations about what the consciousness is and some know something about the
substances.
A
study of magic must include an understanding of the nature of Man. By this is
meant the true psychology of Man, not the so-called study of Man that is totally
mundane, totally materialistic. Man is a spiritual being, before anything else.
But he is also an emotional, physical and material being. Science falls short on
one side and religion on the other.
Max
Freedom Long worked with Dr. Brigham until his death and alone thereafter. After
a total of sixteen years of trying to break the code of silence while living in
the Hawaiian Islands, Max returned to the mainland. He continued to ponder the
problem, until he finally had his insight. He realized that in order to pass on
their lore, the priests had to use oral language, because the Hawaiians were not
literate. The term illiterate is not correct as it implies a short coming.
Preliterate is preferable. The Polynesians had not invented writing. Though they
were a highly intelligent people, they were not literate.
Hawaiian,
like all Polynesian tongues, is made up of small root sounds, with each root
sound having meaning. These roots are placed together to make words.
Max
remembered that all the Hawaiians knew the Kahunas taught that man had two souls
or spirits. All the people who had come to Hawaii from the mainland were either
Christians or having been born into Christian culture, had accepted the
Christian idea of 1 soul or spirit per person.
It
was accepted on such a basic level that no one even thought to consider an
alternative explanation. Also because the Hawaiians were of a spiritual and
mental culture, the European and North American cultures considered them savage
and not worth listening to or believing. They had never even entertained the
possibility that the Hawaiians might know more than they did about the nature of
mankind.
This
idea of the dominant culture assuming that dominance equated superiority, has
lost us so much knowledge and wisdom down through history, that it would take an
immense library to hold it. Perhaps it would take more than one huge library. So
Mr. Long went to his Hawaiian-English Dictionary; and started checking out the
root meanings for the Hawaiian words for different spirits. The first word
checked was Unihipili.
Unihipili,
he soon discovered, was one of the three spirits of man, and when broken down
revealed the subconscious mind. It had all the attributes of the scientifically
delineated subconscious, memory, emotions, the caretaker of the physical body,
plus telepathy, praying and many others.
For
the history of Huna and the work of discovery which still goes on, we look to
the three books by Max Freedom Long, "The Introduction to Huna",
"The Secret Science Behind Miracles", and, "The Secret Science at
Work". There are more, but these are the basic ones to start with.
I
will deal with what is the science of Huna as we go along. But I must relate
what I found about Max's writings first. It is a proof of sorts also.
Max
related in the book, The Secret Science Behind Miracles, how in 1932 he had been
trying to sell his camera store in Honolulu. He was having no success so went to
consult a woman Kahuna of his acquaintance. She consulted her God-self (Aumakua)
and advised him correctly how to go about selling his store to his only
competitor. Then he asked her to check his future as to another desire of his.
He wanted to write. The Kahuna told him he would write eight books. She said the
first four would be difficult and take a long time to write; the next four would
go faster and easier. She could see no further.
Max
wrote that at the time of writing the book I was reading it was 1947 and he had
at that time written four books. There were four more to complete to achieve the
eight seen in the vision. It was 1961 or 1962 when I was reading the prediction.
I told my friend the book made sense to me. I said if it was true there were
more books. We went to check books in print and sure enough there were more
books. The prediction was valid.
There
are many things that could have prevented the writing of the full eight books.
Max could have died, gotten ill or simply quit writing. This would have
invalidated the prediction. The prediction was valid though. I purchased the
books available and the others as he wrote them.
Max
Freedom Long had started a journal for those who were interested in enlarging
our knowledge of Huna. The price was whatever we contributed; even stamps were
acceptable. We studied and participated in experiments when possible. I wrote to
Mr. Long irregularly and tried my best to keep abreast of things Huna.
His
journal was named "The Huna Vista." Max lived in Vista California. He
was less formal in the journal than in the books. He was always humble and self
depreciating, despite his obvious great wisdom. Max never claimed to be a great
soul or a secret high initiate. Max never claimed his wisdom was handed down
from a mountain top. He never claimed to be incarnated from advanced space
people or anything outlandish. Mr. Long did not even claim to be ready for
graduation to the Aumakua level, saying he felt he needed at least one or more
incarnations first. He wrote in his bulletin that he hoped in his next
incarnation there would be enough books about Huna around to help him in his
spiritual growth. So in a sense this book is written for Max in whatever
incarnation he has or will reenter this plane, as well as for other readers.
Mr.
Long considered himself a student of advanced Huna lore who was passing things
on as soon as he learned them. He never claimed the title Doctor, though since
his death others seem to have conferred it on him. The truth is that the study
and work he did during his lifetime would have easily won him one in any
recognized field. The field of Metaphysics gains no recognition in the academic
world. Two things about Mr. Long I admired the most were his modesty and
honesty. He never claimed anything about himself that was not the truth. Max was
always ready to kid himself and not take himself too seriously.
Mr.
Long never claimed he had been initiated by Kahunas into their lore. He never
claimed to be anointed by the Gods to impart the wisdom he had discovered. He
told the truth to the best of his ability. Then he stated the evidence that he
had and suggest the readers should come to their own conclusions.
It
would have been so very easy for him to mislead people. He could easily have
claimed his family came from a long line of Kahunas. Max could have claimed a
secret initiation. Who would have known? After all Max spent many years in
Hawaii. Mr. Long could have concocted almost any tale and have found people to
believe him. Others have done it. The only thing that stopped him was his innate
honesty and modesty.
He
seemed to feel that people who set themselves too high were in danger of letting
their egotism get the best of them, standing in the way of their search for
truth and wisdom. To Max Freedom Long, truth and wisdom were paramount. He felt
he was obligated to probe for the truth as thoroughly as he possibly could and
present it to the readers in the plainest way possible.
